Drostanolone (or dromostanolone) is a derivative of dihydrotestosterone, however, unlike the latter, it practically does not have the ability to attach to androgen receptors not only in muscle fibers, but also in the prostate and in the skin of the head and body. This is explained by the structure of the steroid molecule, or rather, by the presence of an a-methyl group in the second position.
Drostanol propionate
Due to the elimination of the double bond between the 4th and 5th positions, drostanolone turned out to be practically unaffected by the action of aromatase, which means that it was not converted into estradiol. Moreover, studies show that drostanolone has a sufficiently pronounced antiestrogenic activity. There is nothing strange in this, if we remember that the drug is a derivative of dihydrotestosterone, and DHT directly weakens the activity of estrogens in tissues (estrogens attach to the corresponding receptors, but do not activate them).
